Alberto Méndez

Alberto Méndez is a Cuban singer that studied music theory and choir conducting in a conservatory in Santiago de Cuba. After his graduation was part of the National Choir of Cuba. Was always very connected and felt identified with the Cuban popular music so in 2009 started singing with well-known Cuban bands like Pupy y los que Son Son and Havana C.

Alekos Papadopoulos

Alekos Papadopoulos (born 1963) is a Greek percussionist.

He has been a member of Trio Balkano, Trio Praxis, Ευοί Ευάν, Ποντοπόροι. In 2015 he released his first solo album, Kroustomania.

Andreas Theodorou

Andreas Theodorou graduated from the Music Lyceum of Nicosia in 2011, majoring in Percussion Performance while also studying Jazz Drums with Ioannis Vafeas, Piano Performance, and Music Theory with Yiannos Savvides.
Following his graduation, Andreas commenced his further music studies at Rotterdam’s Conservatory (Codarts), majoring in Drums Performance.
Andreas Theodorou has participated in various music seminars, workshops, and master-classes including the famous drummer JoJo Mayer’s workshops in Rotterdam.

Other Workshops participation are with Fotis Yiannopoulos’ master-class, Aaron Spears’ workshop and regular participation in Fulbright’s Jazz master-classes. Since 2012 Andreas has been working as a session musician, collaborating with various artists including Savvas Savva, Michael Messios Stelios Dionysiou, Alkinoos Ioannides, Antonis Remos, Antonis Vardis, Koullis Theodorou and others. He performed with the Groovebenders on 15th PjFestival.

Andreas Vassiliou

Andreas Vassiliou was born in Larnaca at 1987. He begun his music journey from a very young age, where he was taking part in various concerts playing the guitar.
He completed his musical studies in the University of Nicosia with a Bachelors in Jazz Performance.
Today he is composing original songs and teaches guitar and theory on all levels while maintaining his love for live music and taking part in various music groups around Cyprus.

Christos Konstandinides

Christos Konstantinidis, born in Serres, Greece on the 14th of March 1985, has been developing a passion for music since the age of twelve when he got his first drum courses from Sotiris Ladias. He has devoted himself professionally to music ever since the completion of his school education. With a particular interest for improvisational music and Jazz, he enrolled to the conservatory of Thessaloniki where he studied subjects ranging from Harmony and Theory of Music to Classic Percussion.

In 2005 he decided to attend  a preparatory year in the conservatory of Rotterdam in Netherlands, where he completed his rich musical education in 2010. He has worked, co-operated, learned and performed with various important musicians, from a contribution at an early age to the recording of a new album by the well-known Greek band “Μωράστη Φωτιά” to accomplished musicians such as Hans van Oosterhout, Peter Ypma, Joost Kroon, Joost Patocka, Lucas van Meerewijk, Owen Hart jr., Hein van de Gein, Kris Goessens, Jeff Ballard, Billy Hart, James Carter, John Abercrombie, Mark Guilliana, Jim Black. He has been an active performer with various projects, both in Greece and abroad (Cyprus, Netherlands). Since 2010 he is based in Athens where he is performing and teaching

Emmanuel Vourakis

Emmanuel Vourakis

With a career that spans over 20 years, Emmanuel Vourakis has performed in many bands in Greece and the U.S., gaining widespread popularity as a member of Blues Wire, one of the most established blues bands in Europe and with whom he toured regularly from 2007-10.

Winner of the only “B.B. King Blues Guitar competition” ever to be held in Greece and organised by the record label BMG in March 1998, he was also awarded the title ‘Blues Guitarist of the Year’ from Berklee College of Music for the year 2003-4.
Since 2009 he has been fronting The Zilla Project as vocalist and guitarist, with whom he has also released a 2014 album titled “This One’s For the President”. As a recording and session artist he has been involved with a slew of recordings, TV appearances and concerts in Greece, Cyprus and the U.S., with local and international artists spanning various styles of music.

Evagoras Karagiorgis

Music teacher, composer, lute player. He was born in Tsada-Paphos in 1957.
In 1982 he went to the USA where he studied music at the Aaron Copland School of Music (City University of New York) with Allen Brings and Leo Kraft (1981-1988).
In 1988-89 he continued composition at N.Y.U., with the Israeli composer Menahem Zur and Philosophy of the Arts with David Echer. At the same period he also took postgraduate courses in Ethnomusicology and Electronic Music.

Since 1989 he is being teaching music in the Public Schools of Cyprus.
In 1990 he began composing music for all the major theater companies. At the same period he works also for TV writing music for various series and documentaries.
In 1992, he wins the A’ Pancyprian Song Competition with his song ‘The Dream’. After his first success he publishes his first cycle of songs, The ‘Old lute’ (1994), based oν poetry by D. Lipertis, M. Pasiardis, traditional verses as well his own.
In 1997 he published the song cycle, ‘Places in the color of lulaki’. A third work, in collaboration with the famous Cretan lyre player Psarantonis, features his songs written for the Chronicle of Leontios Machairas, a dramatized version by Michalis Pieris.
In 2006 he published the work ‘Without the old key’, a duo  ollaboration with the double bass player Irenaeos Koullouras.
In 2009 his new alboum, ‘Ready for long time’ with piano songs and instrumentals was published. In 1999, with a group of young composers he took part in the foundation o the Cyprus Composers Center, a movement towards the development of the serious music in the island.
Part of this is his outcome of small number of chamber works created in that aspect. Among his many musical interests is the research and exploration of the traditional Cypriot music (the modes, rhythms, elodies and harmony).

Gabriela Kozyra

Ten years ago Gabriela Kozyra left Poland to study Jazz at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague and later Brazilian music at the Rotterdam’s Conservatoire, which she graduated from cum laude.
Studied with Rachel Gould, Fay Classen, Jose Koning amont others, and took master classes in Holland as well as Rio de Janeiro. So far she has been involved in many different projects: “Requiem para el Mundo” with Nueva Manteca, “Music and Poetry” with Annaelis de Jong, the “Codarts Big Band Project”  …

… with guest musician Cyro Baptista, Nelson Faria, Rick Margitza, Carlos Werneck, Billy Hart and the most recent one with her own quartet playing the music of Guinga.
She performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival and Jazz International Rotterdam in Holland, Silesjan Jazz Meeting in Poland, Modern Sound in Rio de Janeiro. She sang also for the president of Brazil during his visit in the Netherlands in 2008. In April 2009, she received a fund from a prestigious organization Prins Bernhard Cultuur Fonds to study in a unique and the only school of choro and samba in Brazil and in the world called “Portatil” in Rio de Janeiro.
Currently she is preparing her first record which will include music of contemporary Brazilian composers, some of who authorized their unedited yet compositions to Gabriela.

Pavlina Konstantopoulou was born in Nicosia Cyprus in 1982.
She holds degrees in Guitar, Piano and Theory of Music, from the Trinity College of London.
She graduated with a scholarship from Kapodistriako University of Athens with a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Musicology).
She studied the techniques of the Polyphonic song of Epirus and she became a member of the bands “Chaonia” and ‘Io’ performing at the International Festival of Polyphony, which took place at Theatro Petras in Athens 2004 and in various concerts.

During her ten-year stay in Athens, she worked as a performer with the composer Michalis Christodulides presenting his work and with the classical guitarist Stella Kypreou whom with they presented Manos Chadjidakis’ works. She also cooperated with Elias Vamvakousis, with the violinist Pavlos Michaelides, with the band Iris (together they recorded three albums), as well as with many other bands playing her own music.
In June 2009, she performed at Megaro Mousikis in Athens with The Orchestra of Colors, for the cinematography music of Manos Ηadjidakis.
She now works in Cyprus with Evagoras Karageorgis, Savvas Houvartas, Demetris Constantopoulos, Lefteris Moumtzis and Charitini Kyriakou for concerts in Cyprus and International Festivals.
Yafka Records recently released her first album in which she and Elias Vamvakousis present their own songs with the title ‘Ime Zen kai me Tarazis’.
She worked in the past with Doros Demosthenous, Aliki Kagialoglou, Vassilis Lekkas and Elias Liougos in various concerts.
She has been a member of the Theatre group “Atrapos” and she played at the theatrical versions of “The Life of Brian” by Monty Pythons and “High Fidelity” by Nick Hornby, both directed by Stefanos Blatsos and Demi Stavraki.
She also participated in the movies “Future Summer” and “Aphrodite’s Secrets” directed by Paul Hettel.

Pavlos Michaelides

Pavlos Michaelides

Cypriot-born Pavlos Michaelides is widely considered one of the most exceptionally gifted and charismatic violinists of his generation. His work and performances are unmatched in their eloquence, control, passion, and honesty, rendering Michaelides a supreme virtuoso. With an impressive stylistic range, Michaelides effortlessly blends traditional old Greek style with Classical and World music.

He has served as a member and rotating concertmaster of the Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Arizona.
He has been a member of the Bay Area Classical Harmonies (California, USA) and the chamber music orchestra “Uindy Michaelides holds an LRSM diploma (Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music) in Violin Performance, having studied under Prof. G. Zevgolis and a BA degree in Music from the University of Indianapolis, where he studied under Prof. V. Halapsis. He also holds a BSc degree in MIS from the University of Arizona, Tucson, and an MBA in Finance from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff.
A member of various different ensembles, Michaelides performs classical, folk, and world music at some of the world’s important cultural venues and festivals.

Tassos Spiliotopoulos

Born in 1978 in Athens, Greece, Tassos Spiliotopoulos moved to London in 2000 to pursue music and since 2013 is based in Stockholm, Sweden. While in London Tassos quickly became a part of the UK Jazz scene and worked with many of the country’s top musicians. He also studied at Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Mmus) and Trinity College of Music (Bmus, Hons).

Since the very beginning of his time in London Tassos has been touring with his own bands as well as numerous other creative projects, performing in clubs and festivals in over 15 countries in Europe, America and Asia. He has worked with artists such as Kenny Wheeler, Gary Husband, Asaf Sirkis, Dimitri Vassilakis, John Parricelli, Mike Outram, John Etheridge, and more.
In 2005, Tassos formed a ‘Tassos Spiliotopoulos Quartet’ with some of the most talented musicians from the London jazz scene. The idea was to create a fresh sounding, contemporary group that combines lyrical, extended-form compositions with high energy improvising. The Quartet’s first album ‘Wait For Dusk’ was released by Konnex Records in 2006.
Tassos’ second album ‘Archipelagos’ was released in 2010 on F-IRE records and featured special guests Kenny Wheeler and John Parricelli. The album was warmly received by the international music press praising Tassos’ distinct guitar style and unique compositional approach. 
2016 marks a new collaboration between Tassos and musicians from Sweden and the release of the new album ‘In the North’. An album that Tassos considers his best recorded work yet and one that confirms his reputation as one of the most accomplished guitarists of his generation as well as a composer that brings something truly new to the Jazz table. As with previous Tassos Spiliotopoulos albums, the music builds on to the modern Jazz idiom, but this time new influences from greek folk music, film music, flamenco, blues and fusion are incorporated.
In 2021, after a period of intense touring Tassos released ‘Solitude – EP’ featuring a trio with Kevin Glasgow and Asaf Sirkis. 2021 also marks the start of a new collaboration with Greek musicians Michael Evdemon and Panos Vassilopoulos called  S.E.V. Trio. The new trio released a series of videos including ‘Live in Athens’ as well as their debut album ‘Far from Close’ featuring original music written by Tassos Spiliotopoulos and Michael Evdemon.

Thomas Poll

Thomas Poll, born  22-04-1989 grew up in a family where music was important.
He started with the violin and at the age of 10 he startet playing upright bass. During his school years he played in several bigbands, bands and a symphonic orchestra, his passion for music was growing.
At the age of 18 he started to begin his study at Codarts Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Rotterdam. In his 3rd year he did an exchange program to New Orleans for 1 year.

In that time he learned a lot and playing with international known musicians  such as Jason Marsalis, Herlin Riley, Leah Chase and so on.
When he came back he graduated from codarts with a 9.5.
After that things started to roll, tours in Europe, Asia and trips back to New Orleans.
Playing with some of the finest musicians in Holland such as Hans van Oosterhout, Peter Beets, John Engels and so on.
Right now he lives in Holland and he has some big plans for the future, doing his master in New Orleans!

Tom Lumley

After Graduating with a first class BA honours degree from the prestigious jazz course at Leeds College of Music in 2008 Tom Lumley‘s skills lay in his uncanny improvisational ability and creative approach.
With interests and influences from the jazz world along with keen interests in Contemporary Improvised music, Balkan folk music, Hudustani Classical music, Afro Cuban music and DIY Avant Guard Electronica he has a very broad palette of tastes and knowledge. Tom’s main musical focus is involved with the acute and detailed processes of improvisation.

His interests lay in how the combinations of musical elements from separate genres can lay on top of each other and how both academic processes and emotive urges and senses can be combined to produce wonderfully elaborate music without the need for pre-learned scores or musical preconceptions.
In 2011 Tom was granted the Welsh Arts Council’s “Advanced Study Award” funding to study a Master of Music course at CODARTS Conservatory in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) specialising in research on the use of Low Tech electronics within freely improvised music and its application practically and academically.
Tom has performed with many artists, names including Tony Allen (Fela Kuti), Mathew Bourne, Frank Vigroux, Chris Sharkey (Acoustic Lady Land, Trio Vd), Dave Kane, Huw Warren, along with being an active Member of LIMA (Leeds improvised Music Association).
Tom has recently become more involved with the Cologne (Germany) free improv scene completing extensive tours across Germany and The Netherlands.

Yaron Stavi

He is featured on Gilmour’s Best Selling album Rattle That Lock which was released in 2015.
He is a long time collaborator of Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music and appears on Phil’s albums 6PM, Vozero, 50 Minutes Later, Firebird VII, The Sound of Blue and more.
Yaron has toured with Phil Manzanera and on a residency in Ronny Scott’s Jazz Club in London they hosted David Gilmour among other guests. He has played again with David Gilmour on a charity concert where they were joined on stage by the likes of Kate Moss, Lilly Allen, Shane Macgowan and Madness’s singer Suggs.

Yaron recorded a few albums for John Zorn’s label Tzadik with Koby Israelite and works with singersongwriters Victor Vox, Beatie Wolfe and Sonia Bernardo. In 2019 Yaron moved back to Germany and he now lives in Stuttgart.
