We left for last, at 11.30 pm, the group that by right they deserve to be the highlight of our program. They have been the leaders of jazz in Cyprus and they have been the inspiration for the younger ones. They played for the first time at our festival 13 years ago. On their performance on ‘International Jazz Day this year, someone could feel how time has worked on their side. We are talking about the ‘Irinaeos Trio’, who of course are Irinaeos Koullouras on the acoustic bass, Giorgos Koulas on drums, and Giorgos Krasides on saxophone. In their repertoire, there are pieces carefully chosen from jazz in general and authentic compositions. Their style is a mix of modern jazz, trad, Mediterranean, and ethnic which results in a unique and authentic musical trademark. With them will join on stage the magnificent jazz guitarist Ofer Ganor who will fly to Cyprus, especially for the event …

Αφήσαμε για τελευταίο, στις 11.30, το γκρουπ που δικαιωματικά βρίσκεται στη κορυφή του φετινού προγράμματος. Αποτελείτε από τους μουσικούς που άνοιξαν τους δρόμους για τη Τζαζ μουσική στη Κύπρο, και έγιναν η έμπνευση για τους νεώτερους. Πρωτόπαιξαν στο φεστιβάλ μας 13 χρόνια πριν. Στην φετινή εμφάνιση τους στο ‘International Jazz Day’ μπορούσες να νοιώσεις πως ο χρόνος λειτουργεί προς το μέρος τους. Μιλουμε για το ‘Ειρηναίος Τρίο’, με τον Ειρηναίο Κουλλουρά στο ακουστικό μπάσο, τον Γιώργο Κούλα στη ντραμς και τον Γιώργο Κρασίδη στο σαξόφωνο. Στο ρεπερτόριο τους έχουν κομμάτια από τη τζαζ γενικότερα όπως και προσωπικές τους συνθέσεις. Το ύφος του Τρίο είναι ένα μιξ από μοντέρνα τζαζ, παραδοσιακή, μεσογειακή και εθνικ που στο τέλος είναι προσωπικό και αυθεντικό. Μαζί τους στη σκηνή θα είναι ο υπέροχος κιθαρίστας της τζαζ Ofer Ganor, που θα έρθει στη Κύπρο ειδικά για την εκδήλωση μας. Ανυπομονούμε να τους ακούσουμε…..
